Jr. Eagle

Henry Clark Eagle, Jr. 89, of Lynchburg and formerly of Head Waters, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born May 5, 1925 in McDowell a son of the late Henry C. and Mary Louise (Hupman) Eagle. Mr. Eagle received a Purple Heart during his service in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a farmer and had worked at Taylor Ramsey Lumber Company in McDowell. His brother, William Rosser Eagle and his sister, Josephine Pullin preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Roscoe Eagle and wife, Edna of Falls Church; three sisters, Lucile Hahn and husband, Kenley of Lynchburg, Nora Rutherford of Fincastle and Nellie Richards and husband, Stephen of Madison Heights and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 12 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Glynn Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the McDowell Presbyterian Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Obaugh Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Miller, Steve Varner, Elmo Varner, Lynn Pullin, Gilbert Pullin, Sam Rutherford, Henry Rutherford, George Richards and Kenley Richards.
