Juanita Armstrong

Juanita Anne Armstrong, 58, of Moyers, WV died on Saturday, July 6, 1996 at her residence.

She was born on February 13, 1938 at Doe Hill, Va., a daughter of William S. Jones of Charlottesville, Va. and Permelia Anne (Whitelaw) of McDowell, Va.

On December 14, 1957, she was married to Robert J. Armstrong of Moyers.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She served as a postmaster at Doe Hill and was serving as postmaster at McDowell. She had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years.

In addition to her husband and her parents, surviving are two sons, Barry Armstrong of Moyers and Craig Armstrong of Harrisonburg, Va.; a sister, Margaret Harper of Moyers; a brother, Thomas Jones of Doe Hill, Va.; and two grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Norman Nilsen with burial at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Campanella, Carl Mortenson, Carl Cunningham and Edwin Wimer.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to South Fork or Franklin rescue squads.
