Karen Adele Praeg, 79, of Bolar, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at her home.
She was born May 5, 1945 in New Jersey, a daughter of the late Delbert Harry and Pauline Stoner (Gage) Praeg.
Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1969 and her Masters of Arts the subsequent year, both from Montclair State College, New Jersey. An educator, she taught social studies and language arts at Copeland Middle School in Rockaway, New Jersey.
Karen loved hiking and being in nature. A horse enthusiast who loved animals of all kinds, Karen was also an ardent and generous supporter of wildlife conservation efforts. She was an avid reader who taught Shakespeare studies, and greatly admired Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
She is survived by her brother, Gary Praeg and wife, Sharon of Sparta, NJ; a niece, Darlene Kishpaugh; nephew, Donald Praeg; as well as special friends and caregivers, Cathy and Rob Robertson of Bolar; and beloved Australian Shepherd, Samantha.
A natural burial will take place on the Robertson Farm in Big Valley.
