Laura Stuart

HEADWATERS Laura Alice Stuart, 79, of Headwaters, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Augusta Health. She was born December 13, 1934 in Doe Hill a daughter of the late Jessie Booker and Viola Roxie (Botkin) Kiracofe. Mrs. Stuart was a homemaker, who was a very caring and giving person. She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed reading, quilting and gardening. On December 12, 1952, she married Weldon Allen Stuart, who preceded her in death on August 3, 1991. She was also predeceased by her son, Phillip A. Stuart; sister, Dorothy McCray and brother, Gilbert Botkin. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah S. Miller of Pasadena, MD; two sons, William S. Stuart of Headwaters and James G. Stuart and wife, Cynthia of Staunton; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Timothy, JoBeth and Evan Stuart, Matthew, Jesse and Rachael Miller and three great-grandchildren, Colin Stuart, Mason and Isabella Miller. She also leaves behind her sister, Myrtle Hoover and husband, Gernon of Moyers, WV and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Obaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Headwaters Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
