Leah Keckley

Leah Swecker Keckley, 98, of Blue Grass, died on Wednesday, February 25, 1998 at Pendleton Nursing Home.

She was born on January 15, 1900, at Blue Grass, a daughter of Eldridge and Almeda (Colaw) Swecker.

She was a member of Crabbottom Presbyterian Church. She attended James Madison University and taught school at Blue Grass.

Surviving are a son, James Keckley of Carmel, Ind.; two grandchildren; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Rachel Fisher of Waynesboro and Juanita Pennybacker of Blue Grass.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Keckley; a son, Melvin Keckley; a sister; and five brothers.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home at McDowell by the Rev. Bill Moore, with burial in the Blue Grass Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Pallbearers will be friends and relative attending the service.
