Leta Mae “Peg" Armstrong, 72, died Thursday, morning (May 23, 1991) in Waynesboro Community Hospital.
She was born May 10, 1991 at Moyers, W. Va., a daughter of Louisa Etta (Simmons) Snyder.
Her husband, Don Armstrong, preceded her in death July 25, 1966.
She was a member of McDowell Presbyterian Church and was president of the Women of the Church for a number of years.
She had been the mail carrier in Doe Hill for 24 years. She is the last survivor of her immediate family.
Mrs. Armstrong is survived by a number of nieces and nephews including Frances Siron of McDowell with whom she had lived after her recent hip surgery.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Puffenbarger on Sept. 11, 1990.
A service was conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral; Home by the Revs. Lester LaPrade and Steve McMillion, with burial in the McKendree Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott, Larry, Robert and Benny Armstrong, Dough and Jim Siron, Russel, and Ronnie Puffenbarger.
