Lina Revercomb Whitson, age 87, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in Staunton. She was born July 5, 1919 in Deerfield a daughter of the late John Henderson and Emma (Lyle) Revercomb.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alfred “Al” Whitson; an infant brother, Archie Benjamin Revercomb, two sisters, Frances Revercomb Hoover and Ruth Revercomb Hoy; a brother, John H. “Jack” Revercomb, Jr. and a nephew, John Arch Revercomb.
She is survived by nieces, nephews and their spouses, Jack and Susan Hoover Letner, John and D’Arlene Hoy, William and Cindy Revercomb, all of Deerfield; Rebecca Hoy Stevens of Midlothian and Hugh and Debi Hoover of Rawleigh, NC.
Mrs. Whitson retired from the FBI in Washington, DC. She was a former member of the Sarah Murray Lewis Chapter of the DAR, a lifelong antique enthusiast and she loved her cat, Maggie.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Revercomb Family Cemetery in Deerfield
