CHURCHVILLE, VA Linda Lou Simmons, 67, of Churchville, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at her home. She was born September 2, 1946 in Manassas a daughter of the late William Jackson and Elizabeth Irene (Mock) Mills. Linda was a homemaker and a member of Joyful Sound Church. She enjoyed her flowers, camping trips and frequenting yard sales and flea markets. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Larry Dean Simmons, whom she married August 29, 1964; two daughters, Theresa Pitsenbarger and husband, Steve of Monterey and Tammy Simmons and husband, Tim Snead of Churchville; four grandchildren, Alisha Botkin and husband, Adam of Staunton, Malorie Brower and husband, Brendan of Monterey, Amanda Simmons of Staunton and Steven Snead of Churchville; five great-grandchildren, Aiden and Austin Botkin, Emma Brower, Maddy and Keaton Cale; sister, Betty Lamb of Marion and brother, Dean Mills of Romney, WV. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Stephen Adam Pitsenbarger and sister, Mary Hawkins. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, August, 7, 2014 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Pastor Mike Herring officiating. Burial will follow in Doe Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Billie Jo Simmons, Cheryl Halterman, Peggy Dalton, Steven Snead, Mike Moats and Tony Conner. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Obaugh Funeral Home and friends may call other times at the home.
