Mrs. Louise Simmons Rexrode, 51, of McDowell, died Saturday evening, Dec. 5.1987 at her home.

She was born Feb. 7,1936 at in Doe Hill, a daughter of Nora (Armstrong) Simmons of Mt Sidney and the late Denver C. Simmons. 

Mrs. Rexrode was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church and the McKendree United Methodist Women. She had been employed by Aileen, Inc. at Monterey prior to her illness. 

In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, Bertie M. Rexrode; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Burns of Staunton and Mrs. Debra Ralston of McDowell; three sons, John of Verona, Gary of McDowell and Daniel Rexrode of Warm Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Rotkin of Headwaters, Mrs. Leona Crummett of Mt. Sidney and Mrs. Shirley Armstrong of Charlottesville; a brother, Ralph Simmons of Staunton; and five grandchildren. 

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Lowell P. Stovall, with burial in McKendree Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Bobbie Armstrong, Harlan and Roger Botkin, Carl Vandevander, Melvin Rexrode and Boyd Siron. 

Honorary pallbearers were David L. Siron, Jimmy Moats, Dean Moyers, Jimmy Alphin, Kyle Obaugh and Nathan Rexrode. 

Memorials may he to McKendree United Methodist Church  McDowell, Va. 24458; the Highland Rescue Squad, Monterey, Va. 24465 or the American Cancer Society, Monterey, Va. 24465.
