Lucy Katherine Hiner, 84, of LaPlata, MD, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Genesis Health Care. She was born October 14, 1923 at Monterey a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Annie Rebecca (Eye) Hiner.
Mrs. Hiner retired after 30 years of service from Woodward & Lothrop.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Dale Hiner; a grandson, Richard Swan; three sisters, Vergie Hiner, Madeline Hiner and Ruth Johnson and three brothers, Charles, Walter and Russell Hiner.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Lee and Paul Swan of Waldorf, MD; a son, Bill Hiner of Newburg, MD; three grandchildren, Leslie Perry of Waldorf and Rebecca and T.J. Hiner of Newburg, MD; a great-grandson, Dale Mohler; a brother, Raymond Hiner of Dayton; two nieces, Louise Eckerd of Mt. Sydney and Brenda Ziros of Warrenton and special friends, Tom and Ruby McNeel.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Rev. Derek Tomek officiating . Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
