Margaret Hise

Monterey Margaret Virginia Hise, age 88, widow of William Jacob "Buck" Hise, formerly of Monterey, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Pendleton Manor. Mrs. Hise was born November 1, 1924 in Dunmore, WV, a daughter of the late Bryan Otho and Laura (Erwin) Gum. A homemaker, Mrs. Hise was an avid reader of romance novels and enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Additionally, she will be fondly remembered for her dry wit and humorous nature. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hise was preceded in death by a son, David Hise; a daughter, Linda Hise; a daughter-in-law, Irene Hise; three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Smith and husband, Raymond of Monterey, Sandra Burgoyne and husband, Tom of Franklin, WV, Judi Chandler and husband, Tom of Manassas; three sons, Donald Hise of Cass, WV, William Hise and wife, Bobbie of Rittman, OH, and James Hise of Franklin, WV; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as seventeen great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in Arbovale Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Bailey officiating. Active Pallbearers will include Aaron Bostic, Graham Smith, Mike Mallow, Chris Chandler, John Fitzgerald, and Butch Hise. The family will receive friend from 7-9 Monday evening at Obaugh Funeral Home, as well as other times at the home of her daughter, Betty Smith, 157 Highland Court, Monterey.
