Mary Eveline Folks, 87, of Blue Grass died Sunday night, January 15, 1989 at the Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin, WV.

She was born August 12, 1901 in Waynesboro, a daughter of Julian and Lillie (Swink) Pratt. 

She was a member of the Blue Grass United Methodist Church, the Women of the Church and was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Blue Grass Home Demonstration Club, the Blue Grass Methodist Choir and had taught in the Highland County schools for a number of years.

Her husband, William Bryan Folks, died February 10, 1988.

She is survived by two sons, William P. and Julian D. Folks, both of Blue Grass; three grandchildren and two-great grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Gibson. Burial will be in the Blue Grass Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Harry and Dale Puffenbarger, Dr. Ralph George and Berlie Swecker Jr., Jack Simmons and James Jack.

The family will receive friends, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in McDowell.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Grass United Methodist Church, Blue Grass, Va. 24413 or to the Highland County Rescue Squad, Monterey, Va. 24465.
