Mary Lott

McCOOK, NE Mary Frances Lott, 88, of McCook, NE passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at her daughter's home in McCook, NE. The daughter of John Brent and Bertha Katherine Wortham, she was born October 22, 1927 in Arlington, KY. She graduated from high school in Arlington, KY and then attended Lambuth College in Jackson, TN. She accepted a job in Arlington teaching the seventh grade and then attended George Peabody College in Nashville, TN and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mary also earned a Master's degree in special education at Cumberland University in Cumberland, TN, and taught many years in Tennessee. Mary married Robert William Lott from Weatherford, TX, and they had a home in McDowell, where they resided for many years. She played the piano and organ at the McDowell United Methodist Church and also led the choir. Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Trail of McCook, NE; son, Robert (Soraya) Lott of Mesa, AZ; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her daughter, Mary Roberta. A private burial will be at McDowell Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her name to a charity of choice.
