Maude Whitmore Hevener

Maude Whitmore Hevener, 85, of Hightown passed away Monday morning, July 3, 1989 at Heritage hall Nursing Home, Charlottesville.

She was born April 6, 1904 at Hightown, a daughter of Ervin and Jenny Belle (Wimer) Rexrode.

Her husband, Oliver Sterrit Hevener, died July 15, 1971.

She was a member of Hightown United Methodist church and highalnd County Senior Citizens. She attended Dunsmore Business College and had taught school at Blue Grass.

Survivors incuse a daughter, Frida Shifflett of Crozet; a sister, Edna Mauzy of Pendleton Nursing Home, Franklin, WV; three grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, by the Revs. Richard Gibson and Jerry Ginn, with burial in Hightown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard and Julian Hevener, Jay Hull, Harry Simmons, George Smith, Leo and Robert Gum and Gordon Cousins.
