Nathan C. Selmon, 72, of Greenville and formerly of Highland County died Monday morning, August 24, 1987 at his home.
He was born June 17, 1915 at Bartow, WV, a son of Seth Monroe and Hattie Hester (Wilson) Selmon.
He attended Hilderbrand Mennonite Church, Waynesboro. He had worked as a logger and mechanic before becoming disabled in 1969. He served in the Army in World War II.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Leatha Selmon of Greenville; eight sons, Nathan Gay of Hightown, Aggie Edsell of New Hope, Ralph Edmund of Cherry Grove, WV, Ronald Clyde of Harrisonburg, Cecil Andrew and Donald Steven, both of Staunton, Dallas Dewayne of Crimore and David Lynn Selmon of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Rosie Pugh of Staunton and Mrs. Goldie Gutshall of McDowell; four brothers, Clyde of Covington, Otis of Cherry Grove, Rowan of Blue Grass and Aggie Selmon of Beverly, WV; 11 grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, by the Rev. Ralph Martin, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jacob and Delmar Hevener, Otis Hartman, Carl Caricofe, Stuart Hiner, Lee Torry, Russel Potter and Daniel Kanagy,
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7"30-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
