Nellie Botkin Moyers, 73, of Churchville, formerly of McDowell, died Tuesday night, March 29, 1988 at Liberty House Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.
She was born March 30, 1914 at McDowell, a daughter of the late Joseph Miller and Malinda Propst Botking.
Her husband, Raymond Moyers, preceded her in death July 15, 1967.
Mrs. Moyers was a member of the Hiner Church of the Brethren and for a number of years she was the McDowell switchboard operator.
Survivors include two sons, Joe W. Moyers of Woodbine, Md and Charl L. Moyers of Churchville; one sister, Ruth Grove of Staunton; three grandchildren, Richard, Julie and Malinda Moyers.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Janie Moyers and Arlene Gwin; and two brothers, Algren and Other Botkin.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home by Rev. John Garber. Burial will be in Head Waters Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Calvin Ratcliffe, Rich Moyers, Eddie Grove, Clifford Heavener, Dale, Dennis, Woodrow and Dennis Botkin.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Whitecotton, Marvin, Joe, Roscoe and Larry Simmons, Dean Beverage, Kenneth Robertson, Howard Collins, Ben Alred, Bud Stoutamyer, John Miller, Russell Kincaid, Charles Varner and Wilbert Seveir.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-8 at the funeral home in McDowell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Monterey, Va. 24465.
