Nellie S. Puffenbarger, 76, of Churchville died Tuesday evening, September 11, 1990 at King's Daughters' Hospital where she had been a patient for three weeks.

She was born March 2, 1914 in Pendleton County, WV, a daughter of Etta (Simmons) Snyder.

On July 13, 1935 she was married to Henry Clay Puffenbarger of Churchville.

She was a member of Sangerville Church of the Brethren and had worked as a grader at Shen-Mar Food Products for 13 years.

In addition to her husband, survivors include five daughters, Freda Mae Moyers of Bridgewater, Dorothy Jerline Carrier of Harrisonburg, Erma June Buchanan of Mt. Jackson, Elvira Frances Siron of McDowell, and Brenda Faye Hiner of Staunton; two sons, Russell Elwood and Ronald Lee Puffenbarger, bother of Harrisonburg; sister, Leta Mae Armstrong of Doe Hill; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell by the Rev. Lester LaPrade. Burial will be in Crummett-Puffenbarger Family Cemetery, north of McDowell.

Pallbearers will be Doug and Jim Siron, Elwood Puffenbarger, Tony Carrier, Danny Smith and Keith Taylor.

The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home and at anytime at the residence.
