Oliver Luther Mullenax

Oliver Luther Mullenax, 98, of Staunton, died Wednesday night (April 14, 1993) in Staunton Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 23, 1895 in Highland County, a son of Arthur and Harriett (Sponaugle) Mullenax.

His’ wife, Elva Katherine Mullenax, died Nov. 9, 1975.

He attended the Church of God in Durbin, W. Va., and was a veteran of World War 1.

Survivors include two daughters, Louise Marion of Staunton and Katherine Lilley of Tallahassee, Fla; two sons, Eugene and William A. Mullenax, both of Staunton; a foster daughter, Stella Collins of Norfolk; two sisters, Hazel M. Mullenax of Bartow and Ethel Rexrode of Hightown; a brother, Ray Mullenax of Staunton; and 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three step- grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Stan Kent. Burial will be in the Mullenax family cemetery on Alleghany Mountain.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7- 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
