Othor Carl “Dick” Mitchell, 81, of Sugar Grove died Wednesday morning (Feb. 13, 1991) at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.
He was born Feb. 3, 1910 at Sugar Grove, a son of Ella Michael Mitchell.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was assistant supervisor at the West Virginia Department of Highways for 35 years and was a member of the board of Treasure Mountain Festival Association.
His first wife, Leona (Rexrode) Mitchell, died June 3, 1974. On Oct. 10, 1975 he married Naomi Wilfong Mitchell, who survives.
In addition to his wife of Sugar Grove, survivors include a step-son, Gary Sheffer of Sugar Grove; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service was conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Neal Weltzin, assisted by the Rev. David Lee, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tyson Nesselrodt, Raid Homan, William Mitchell, Earnest Propst, James Pitsenbarger and Eldon Eckard.
