Patricia "Pat" Ann Armstrong

Patricia “Pat” Ann Armstrong, age 83, of Churchville, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born September 3, 1943 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Marguerite (Powell) Viel.

A 1960 graduate of Churchville High School and Staunton School of Cosmetology, Pat spent her working life as a dedicated and accomplished hairdresser. Pat loved to read her Bible nightly, and also enjoyed time spent crocheting, knitting, working on puzzles, and painting. Additionally, she appreciated flowers, gardening, and baking. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Kevin Armstrong; son-in-law, Jeff Fink; and sister, Delores Moyer.

Surviving family members include her husband of 57 years, Benny Armstrong of Churchville; daughters, Nina Armstrong and husband, Tub of Deerfield and Connie Fink of Deerfield; son, Jim Armstrong and partner, Stacy Shull of Swoope; step-son, David Armstrong of Churchville; grandchildren, Carmen Campbell and husband, Justin, Brandon Avey and wife, Kayla, Ceara Humphries, Caleb Armstrong wife, Kaley; great-grandchildren, Tyler Griffin, Benny Avey, Ernest Avey, Hadley Armstrong, Avery Armstrong and Amelia Humphries; as well as her beloved cats, Peepers and Nosey, and granddog, Maddy.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2026 in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro, with pastor Steven Henderson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Avey, Tyler Griffin, Justin Campbell, Woody Frith, Caleb Armstrong, Joe Botkin, Kyle Botkin and Harry Griffin.

Tub Armstrong will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and Augusta Health’s Hospice of the Shenandoah team, who provided wonderful care for Pat.
