Patricia "Jane" Cunningham

November 24, 1942 — July 15, 2011

Patricia “Jane” Cunningham, 68, of McDowell, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at her home.

She was born Nov. 24, 1942 at Troy, a daughter of the late Russell and Merle Payne Ryalls.

Mrs. Cunningham was a member of Free Church of Scotland and attended Williamsville Presbyterian Church. She was instrumental in developing the Machen Retreat and Conference Center, a founder of MGW telephone company and an active volunteer for the American Diabetes Association.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul A. Cunningham of McDowell; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul A. “Andy” Cunningham Jr. of Staunton and James R. “Richie” and Genie Cunningham of McDowell; four grandchildren, Kristen, Paul A. III, Wyatt and Harley Cunningham.

A funeral service was conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Williamsville Presbyterian Church with Pastor Punker Robertson officiating.

A private burial followed in the family cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Lewis Shumate, Robbie Robertson, Melvyn Herwald, Glenn McMullen, Larry and Rusty Ryalls.
