Paul Simmons

Paul Burton Simmons, 90, of Harrisonburg, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at Oak Lea Nursing Home. He was born December 24, 1917 at Moyers, WV a son of the late Pearl and Dora Elizabeth (Moyers) Simmons.
Mr. Simmons was a member of St. Paul Independent Lutheran Church and past member of West Rockingham Ruritan Club. He was a poultry farmer and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche Shrader and Leona Hoover.
He is survived by five nieces; a nephew; eight great-nieces and four great-nephews, including Bryan Sandridge, with whom he made his home and who he considered his son.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11a.m., Monday, August 18, 2008 at St. Paul Independent Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church or friends may call at Obaugh Funeral Home.
