Raymond Nelson

Raymond Wilson Nelson, 65, of Franklin, WV, died May 5, 1996 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mr. Nelson was born July 24, 1930, in Crabbottom and was a son of Raymond Boggs and Elva Mullenax Nelson.

He retired from IBEW Local 70 Union after 35 years of service was an equipment operator for Moore Brothers Construction Co. in Verona. He was a member of the Franklin Moose Lodge, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, having served in the Army in Korea.

Survivors include his wife, Cornelia Nelson, one daughter, Cassandra Nelson, Franklin; five sons, Wayne, Jerry, Charles and Kenny Nelson, all of Franklin, and Lynn Nelson of Moyers, WV; three sisters, Anna Coffman, Stuarts Draft, Irene Harris, Grottoes, and France Selmon, Monterey; two brothers, William Nelson, Harrisonburg and Junior Nelson, Dayton; and 12 grandchildren.

Pastors Peggy Hurlbutt and Norman Nilsen will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell. Burial will be in the Blue Grass Cemetery.
