Rebecca Easter Thomas, 79, of Monterey, died Thursday morning, January 10,1991 at the home of her daughter here.
She was born December 11, 1911 at Buckeye, a daughter of John Colbert and Verdie (Terry) Duncan.
Her first husband, Joseph Henry Easter Jr., died March 19, 1968, and her second husband, Worley Thomas, died May 12, 1988.
She attended Beulah Presbyterian Church in Mill Gap and was employed as a chef for 25 years by Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley. She had won a distinguished honorary medal of the Future Framers of America on the state level.
Following her retirement, she relocated to Monterey.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Stearns of Ripley; a son, Joseph Henry Easter III of Cottageville; a stepdaughter, Joyce Benefield of Nebo, NC; two stepsons, Terry of Penn Laird and Gene Thomas of Newland, NC; and eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday in Beulah Presbyterian Church by the Rev. C. William Cox, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Lee Easter, Stephen Gandee, Pat Lowry, Harry Roadman, Mark Fay, Sidney Lowry Jr. and Wayne Marshall.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and relatives attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
