Richard Lee Sullenberger, 86, of Monterey died Friday, August 2, 1991 at Staunton.
He was born December 27, 1904 at Vanderpool in Highland County, a son of Lloyd and Juana (Swadley) Sullenberger.
He graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1924 and was a retired safety engineer. He was an Episcopalian.
Surviving are his widow, Helena (Coleman) Sullenberger of Monterey; a son, Lloyd C. Sullenberger of Orange; a daughter, Phoebe E. Fielding of Mill Valley, Calif.; a brother, Eugene L. Sullenberger of Sterling; and four grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Monterey Cemetery by the revs. W.W. Pendleton and C. William Cox.
Memorials may be made to the Highland County Rescue Squad, Monterey, Va. 24465.
