Roger Leroy Kincaid, age 72, husband of Isabelle (Puffenbarger) Kincaid, of Head Waters, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born November 22, 1953 in Staunton, he was a son of the late Glenn Brisen and Patricia Jean (Riley) Kincaid.
Raised in Churchville, Roger attended and graduated from Buffalo Gap High School, and on August 15, 1976, was married to Isabelle Puffenbarger.
Roger enjoyed attending services and functions at Hiner Church of the Brethren, where he held membership, as well as reading and working in his garden. Additionally, he enjoyed time spent hunting, fishing, or simply watching old westerns. Above all, Roger loved spending time with his family and will be fondly remembered as being the life of the party.
In addition to his parents, predeceased family members include a granddaughter, Anissa Raines; brothers, Glenn W. and Joseph Myers Kincaid; brother-in-law, Tommy Lowe; sister-in-law, Judy Kincaid; and his best friend, Steve Fisher.
In addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, he is survived by a daughter, Tammy Kay Snook of Verona; his son, Danny Snook of Head Waters; grandchildren, Jeffrey Snook (Kacey) of Staunton, Vanessa Hackworth (Hunter) of Fairchild AFB, WA, Destiny Cash (Paul Mawyer) of Churchville, Damon Cash, Kerry Ann Maddox (Austin) of Churchville; as well as eleven great-grandchildren, and yet another expected in February; his brother, Ronald “Buck” Clinton Kincaid of Williamsville; sisters, Doris Jean Pruitt of Middlebrook, Phyllis Ann Lowe of Swords Creek, Linda Carol Long (Ronald) of Harrisonburg, and Nancy Louise Wiseman (Clifford Sprouse) of Middlebrook; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece Joy Pruitt.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, with pastor Jeff Fike officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Travis Kincaid, Jeffrey Snook, Eddie Wiseman, Jeremiah Wiseman, Chuck Whitlock, Shawn Hackney, Clifford Sprouse, and Paul Mawyer.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home in McDowell.
