BARTOW, WV Roscoe Eugene Moyers, 81, of Bartow, WV and formerly of Hightown, VA, departed this life Sunday, December 28, 2014. He was born November 3, 1933, a son of the late John Wilber and Cathleen Edith (Duncan) Moyers. Roscoe was a retired logger and farmer. He attended Calvary Gospel Church and was of member of the Bear Hunters Club. The things Roscoe enjoyed most in life were bear hunting and time spent on the family farm in Hightown, WV, where he was born and raised. Those left to cherish Roscoe's memory include his wife of 62 years, Alice (White) Moyers; two daughter, Peggy Stull and Ida Moyers, both of Bartow, WV; three sons, Charles "Ralph" Moyers of Romney, WV, Elbert Moyers and wife, Carmen of Franklin, WV and Keith Moyers and wife, Cindy of Durbin, WV. Roscoe cherished time spent with his fourteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren, along with a host of children and young adults throughout the community whom all referred to him as "Paw". He is also survived by his brother, Ronnie Moyers and wife, Sandy of Hightown, VA and two sisters, Madeline Galford of Dunmore, WV and Emogene Tidd and Bud Cook of Monterey, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Eugene Moyers; an infant grandson, Jeffrey Moyers and two infant great-grandsons, Jordan and Riley Moyers. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Calvary Gospel Church in Durbin, WV with Minister Larry Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Arbovale Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tom Dickenson, Troy Rabel, Steve Dilley, Brian Fields, Tom Warner and Shawn Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends during a home viewing Tuesday after 5 p.m. As well as a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
