Rowan Selmon
June 25, 1907 — May 10, 1995
Rowan Selmon, 87, of Monterey, died on Wednesday, May 10, 1995 at Springs Nursing Center, Hot Springs.
He was born on June 25, 1907 at Calhoun County, WV, a son of the late Seath Monroe and Hettie (Wilson) Selmon.
He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy and had been employed by the U.S. Forest Service.
Surviving are his widow, Jewell Selmon of Monterey; two sisters, Goldie Gutshall of McDowell and Rosie Pugh of Staunton; and two brothers, Otis of Cherry Grove, WV, and Aggie Selmon of Beverly, WV.
A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Turner, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Smith, Thomas Pastore, Fred Ramsey, Glen Rexrode, Ezra Halterman and Gideon Hiner.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home at McDowell.
