Roy A. Botkin, 86, of Churchville and formerly of McDowell, passed away Tuesday morning, October 24, 1989 at his home
He was born November 9, 1902 at Doe Hill, a son of Robert T. and Cora E. Botkin.
On January 12, 1937, he married Pansy Varner, who died October 23, 1988.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Hiner Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Vaiden Botkin.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia B. Kisemore of Churchville, with whom he made his home since 1980; a foster son, Donnie Armstrong of Manassas; a brother, Bruce E. Botkin of Churchville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two fosters grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. John Garber Jr., with burial in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville.
Pallbearers will be Glen Jr., Fred and Richard Botkin, Charles Varner, Farell Canup, Nelson Simmons, Russell Armstrong and Elmer Zimmerman.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in McDowell.
