Ruby Ervine

Ruby Irene (Teter) Ervine, 84, of Bridgewater and formerly Head Waters, passed away October 27, 2018 at her home.

She was born April 29, 1934, in Hightown, a daughter of the late Myrtle Kate (Phares) and Rumsey Teter.

Mrs. Ervine was raised in and a member of the former Union Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed needlework, most especially embroidery and crocheting. She loved tending to her flowers, gardening, as well as to read,  but above all she cherished time spent with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Moyers and husband, Bert of Mount Crawford; step-daughters, Marcia Wiseman and husband, Paul of Harrisonburg, Karen Botkin and husband, Donnie of Head Waters and Donna Golladay and husband, Michael of West Augusta; sister, Ethel Grogg of Churchville; grandchildren, Trina Moyers and Christopher Moyers; step-grandchildren, Adam Botkin and wife, Alisha, Amber Botkin, Heather Wiseman, Todd Wiseman and wife, Tina, Luke Golladay, Tyler Golladay and wife, Dana; great-grandchildren, Quentin and Chase Moyers; step-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Austin Botkin; nephew, Raymond Grogg; great-nephew, Robert Grogg; among a number of cousins is a special cousin, Wayne Teter.

Mrs. Ervine was predeceased by her first husband, William Jennings Bryan “Will” Hevener, in 1975; as well as husband, W.G. “Gilmer” Ervine, in 2008.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Obaugh Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Tim Teter, Chad Teter, Robert Moyers, Brandon Over, Vernon Wooddell, Mike Armstrong, Robert Grogg and Everett Showalter.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends in attendance.
