Russell Glenn Corbett, Jr., 62, of Mustoe, died Tuesday afternoon. May 10, 1988 in Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 14, 1925 at Mustoe, a son of the late Russell Glenn and Janet Lillian Gutshall Corbett, Sr.
Mr. Corbett was a retired purebred Hereford cattleman and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Highland VFW Post 4989.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hazel Hannah Corbett of Musto; daughter, Mary Ann Corbett of Charlottesville; two sisters, Irene McAllister and Janet Marshall, both of Mustoe; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in the Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Ivan Young and the Rev. Jerry Ginn. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be James Hevener, Joseph Towle, Lynn Townsend, Charlie Hupman, Porter Folks, Kenton Simmons, and Ernest Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7:30-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in McDowell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland County Rescue Squad, Monterey, Va. or the Highland County Fire Department, Monterey, Va., or to the American Cancer Society, Monterey, Va. 24465.
