Russell Edward Hull, 66, of Monterey died Saturday morning, October 1, 1988 at University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born December 26, 1921 at Vanderpool, a son of James Ira and Fannie Lee (Dixon) Hull.
He attended Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church. He served in the Army in World War II and was a member of Highland CFW Post 4989. Before his retirement, he was employed for 12 years at Monterey Courthouse.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Thelma Mae Hull of Monterey; a daughter, Carol Ann Kay of Warm Springs; six sons, Gary, Donald, Allen and Larry Hull, all of Monterey, Delmas Doyle of Arbovale, WV, and Russell Lee Hull of Hightown; two sisters, Janet Armstrong and Lottie Gutshall, both of MOnterey; four brothers, James and Matlin, both of Monterey, Glen of Mustoe and Clarence Hull of Belington, WV; and 16 grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Jerry Ginn and Robert Gue, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Armstrong, Mary and Ray Harper Corbett, Jack Warner, Houston Smith, Dick Eagle, Billy Pritt and Ernest Lightner Jr.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in McDowell.
