Russell McQuain, Sr.

Russell Lee McQuain, Sr., 86, of Moyers, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab in Harrisonburg, Va.

He was born July 17, 1932, in Moyers, the youngest son of the late Samuel H. and Mary B.  McQuain.

On July 1, 1955 he married Donna Raye Perry.

Russell had retired after spending 20 years in retail management with Sears Roebuck Company. He attended Totten Chapel United Methodist Church.

He devoted his life taking care of his family and children and enjoyed hunting. Above all, he loved watching his grandchildren grow.

In addition to his wife Donna of 63 years, he is survived by a son, Russell “Rusty” McQuain Jr. of Woodbridge, Va.; daughter, Dwala Lynn McQuain of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Cynthia Gayle McQuain; and two brothers, Donald and Everett McQuain.

A funeral will be held at 12 noon, Monday, June 17, 2019 at Obaugh Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Boger officiating. Interment will follow in Totten Chapel Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to "Alzheimer's Association" and mailed to Alzheimer's Association National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, Va. 22102.
