Sarah K. Eckard-Fitzgerald, 63, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 26, 1989 at Liberty House Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.
She was born November 28, 1925 at Sugar Grove, WV, a daughter of William Roy and Barbara (Smith) Eckard.
She was a former employee of Basic Witz in Staunton for a number of years.
She is survived by a daughter, Ella Slye of Elkton; son, Melvin Fitzergerald of Verona; two sisters, Sadie Thorpe and Betty Rexrode, both of Staunton; and five grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by Donald Murphy.
Burial will be in the Head Waters Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Roadcap, Billy Eckard, Jimmy Miller, Sammy Harris, Glen Redifer and Tom Griffin.
The famil will receive friend from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in McDowell.
