Selma Botkin

Selma (Fleisher) Botkin, 53, of McDowell, died on Friday, September 6, 1996 at her residence.

She was born on September 7, 1942 at Franklin, WV, a daughter of Elbert and Jennie V. (Propst) Fleisher.

On July 16, 1960, she was married to Glenn Botkin Jr.

She was a member of Doe Hill United Methodist Church, Doe Hill UMC Women, was a Sunday school teacher and a leader of the youth group, she was a volunteer 4-H leader for 23 years and had been employed as a receptionist for Dr. T.E. Billingsley for 29 years.

In addition to her husband, surviving are are four daughters, Sharon Botkin of Harrisonburg, Dianne Gelzhiser of Pittsburg, Anita McCray of Churchville and Carol Bowden of Singers Glen; a son, Stephen Borkin of McDowell; three brothers, Leon of Ruckersville, Edwin of Elkton and Curtis Fleisher of Washington Court House, Ohio; a sister, Imogene May of Verona; five grandchildren; and a step-grandson.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Doe Hill United Methodist Church by the Revs. Timothy Strock and Chris Weitzel, with burila at Toten Chapel Cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church an hour before the service.

Pallbearers will be Dr. T.E. Billingsley, Lee Blagg, Gary Simmons, Galen and Jerry Botkin, Jack Beverage, Charles Varner and Carl Kimble Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
