Sibyl Ann Sowers

Sibyl Ann Sowers, 76, of Staunton, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 7, 1990, at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax.

She was born April 4, 1914 in Blue Grass, a daughter of Salisbury and Margaret (Newman) Mullenax.

Her husband, Elmer W. Sowers, preceded her in death in 1961.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth McCall and Patricia beamer, both of Fairfax; two sones, James T. of Staunton and Elmer T. Sowers of Augusta, WV; two sisters, Rachel Burke of Staunton and Sally Mullenax of Bethesda, MD; brother, Thomas Mullenax of Mt. Sidney; nine grandchildren,; and nine great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell by the Rev. Ansel Peer. Burial will be in the Blue Grass Cemetery.

The family will receive friends two hours before the service Saturday afternoon.
