Stover Puffenbarger

Stover Lee Puffenbarger, age 72, of Sugar, Grove, WV, died Friday, September 15, 2006 at his home.   He was born December 15, 1933 at Sugar Grove, WV a son of the late John Harrison and Maude Jane (Hoover) Puffenbarger.

Mr. Puffenbarger was a member of the Brushy Fork Full Gospel Church.  He had worked in construction.

On August 31, 1957, he married, Ella Susan Pennybacker, who preceded him in death on December 9, 1993.  He was also predeceased by a daughter, Mary Sue Puffenbarger on July 21, 2006 and a brother.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Freeman and Cathy Puffenbarger of Sugar Grove, WV and a granddaughter, Miranda Simmons and her husband, Daniel of Franklin, WV; three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Austan and Kenzie Wagoner; three sisters, Bertha Shank of Mt. Solon, Leafy Simmons of Sugar Grove, WV and Lou Emma Smith of Harrisonburg; three brothers, Johnny Puffenbarger of Harrisonburg, Archie Puffenbarger of Mt. Solon and George Puffenbarger of Spring Creek and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, September 18, 2006 at Puffenbarger Family Cemetery by the Rev. William Strickler.

Active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Bosserman, David and Elden Puffenbarger, Daniel Simmons, Jimmy Smith and John Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
