Stuart Lee Hall, 79 of Millboro, passed away April 22, 2021 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, after a short battle with Bulbar ALS.
He was born June 28, 1941 in Clifton Forge, a son of the late Cecil “Odie” and Dorothy (Stull) Hall.
An advocate for Bath County, Stuart served as a county supervisor, representing the Williamsville District for 40 years. He will be remembered for always standing up for the local people and their needs. Stuart was a member of the Burnsville United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the board and on various other committees. Every Sunday, Stuart greeted each member at the door with a smile and words of encouragement. Stuart was also a member and president of the Millboro Preservation and Cultural Association.
In his spare time, Stuart was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Stuart is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara Loving Hall; daughter, April Richards and husband, Ralph of Lindside, WV; step-daughters, Mary Hartman of Ionia, MI, Denise Finley and husband, Mike of Haymarket, Deanna Wells and husband, Mack of Potomac, MD and Kristi Booker and husband, Dain of Berryville; sisters, Wanda Engleman and husband, Dickie of Sharon, Betty Fix and husband, Larry of Covington and Debbie VanBuren of Clifton Forge; brother, Dennis Hall and wife, Vicki of Millboro; 11 grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 2270 Burnsville Road, Burnsville, Va. 24487 with Rev. Sang Lee and Donald Lee Altizer officiating. The service being outdoors, attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and dress accordingly. The burial will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Additionally, Obaugh Funeral Home will receive family and friends wishing to pay their respects Saturday, April 24, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Hall, Justin Hall, John VanBuren, Eddie Webb, Billy Webb and Leon Baer.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Burnsville United Methodist Church, c/o J. Alexander, 104 Buck Run Lane, Burnsville, Va. 24487 or Burnsville Rescue Squad, c/o Betty Alexander, 8601 Muddy Run, Burnsville, Va. 24487.
