Thomas "Pat" Hannon

Thomas “Pat” Patrick Hannon, age 48, husband of Teresa Marie (Rader) Hannon, of Staunton, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017.   He was born November 6, 1968 in Saratoga Springs, NY a son of Thomas Gerard Anthony Hannon and the late Janice Mary (Lynch) Hannon.

A 1994 graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology, Pat was a licensed land surveyor in Virginia and West Virginia. Since graduation, he was employed in Northern Virginia.  He attended Totten Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was very active in the youth program.  Pat loved music, especially playing his electric and bass guitars.  An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed swimming, wind surfing, hiking, running and skiing, just to name a few.  Most of all he loved time spent with his family, especially his sons.

Surviving family members include his wife, Teresa, whom he married May 9, 1994; his sons, Thomas Philip Hannon and Levi Jeffrey Hannon of the home; his father, Thomas and his wife, Andrea Kruse Hannon of Highlands, NC; sister, Elizabeth Kaya Allen of Steamboat Springs, CO; brother, David M. Allen of Norwell, MA; his mother-in-law, Myrtle Rader of Moyers, WV; as well as many extended family members and close friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2017 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Rev. Dave Boger officiating.  Burial will follow in Totten Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Rader, Philip Rader, Jr., James Holston, James Pitsenbarger, Jeff Craig, Tim Mines, David Allen and Jason Darne.  His close friend, Todd Gozelanski will act as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
