Virginia Maude (Smith) Crummett

Virginia Maude (Smith) Crummett, 88, of Moyers died Friday, September 30, 1988 morning at Camelot Hall Nursing Home in Harrisonburg, where she had lived since March 10.

Mrs. Crummett was born June 19, 1900, at Sugar Grove and was a daughter of the late David R. and Marsha Jane Waggy Smith.

In June 1921, she married Elmer Crummett, who died in April 1966.

Mrs. Crummett taught at Mountain Hall School in West Virginia and had also been a member and Sunday School teacher at Crummett Run Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Warren B. Crummett of Midland, Mich.; two daughters, Virginia Crummett Gum of Penn Laird and Norma Crummett Wolfe of Harrisonburg; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday in Crummett Run Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Allen Pugh. Burial will be in Crummett Run Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell. the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Pendleton County Rescue Squad or to the Crummett Run Church of the Brethren.
