Walter "Bunt" Berlie Hise

Walter "Bunt" Berlie Hise, age 49, of Harrisonburg and formerly of Hightown, passed away Friday evening, April 28, 1989 at his home.

He was born July 25, 1939 at Hightown, a son of Walter and Cleo Hise.

On November 28, 1964, he married Jo Ann Halterman of Harrisonburg, who survives.

In addition to his mother of Hightown and widow, he is survived by two sons, Dewayne Allan and Libert Ernest Hise, both of Harrisonburg; three sisters, Frances Armstrong of Hot Springs, Ruby Simmons of Monterey and Mary June Crisco of Hightown; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Ginn with burial in the Hise Family cemetery in Hightown.

Pallbearers will be Leo Gum, Richard Waybright, Billy McFadden, Harry H. Simmons, Jacob Hevener, Charlie Hupman, Harry Miller and Richie Cunningham.

The family will receive friend from 7-9 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home in McDowell and at others time at the Cleo Hise residence in Hightown.
