Wanda Mae (Rexrode) Carroll

Wanda Mae (Rexrode) Carroll, 91, of Mill Gap, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab in Fishersville.

She was born January 28, 1931 in Highland County, a daughter of the late Floyd William and Lillie Mae (Wimer) Rexrode. She married James Vaiden “Amos” Carroll, who preceded her in death, August 5, 1979.

A member of Green Hill United Methodist Church, Wanda loved to raise a garden and can her bounty. She enjoyed taking rides with her daughter, Donna. Throughout her life, Wanda lived and maintained a simple and earnest life style and will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and good humor.

The last surviving member of her immediate family she was additionally preceded in death by six brothers, Rosco, Herbert, Ralph, Carl, Delmer and Curtis Rexrode; and two sisters, Maggie Wagner and Eva Puffenbarger.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Carroll of Mill Gap; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in Green Hill Cemetery with pastor Bobbie Jo Gardner officiating.
