Wanda Mae (Propst) Roberts

Wanda Mae (Propst) Roberts, 79, of Burnsville passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at Bath Community Hospital.

She was born October 25, 1944 in Franklin, WV, a daughter of the late William Cecil and Beulah M. (Hoover) Propst.

A Christian, Wanda formerly attended Burnsville United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Burnsville Community Center prior to her decline in health. She enjoyed puzzles, embroidery and sewing. Above all, she was a strong, selfless giving, wife and mother, who loved her family and would do anything in the world for them.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, John Propst; and sister, Anna Lou Propst.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Roscoe Hamilton Roberts; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Dean; grandchildren, Jodi Rucker, Shannon Dean and Charles Rucker, all of Burnsville; brothers, Arlie Propst of Warm Springs, and Bobby Propst and wife, Rosa of Brandywine, WV; sisters, Betty Wolfe of Franklin, WV, Hilda Moats and husband, Albert of McDowell, Helen Raines and husband, Bud of Franklin, WV and Jeannie Propst and friend, Allen Bussard of Franklin, WV; as well as great-grandchildren, Hadleigh Rucker, Eli McCulley, Braelyn McCulley, Cami McCulley and Jakob McCulley.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2023 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, with Pastor David George officiating. Burial will follow in Burnsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Lambert, Chris Stanley, Daryl McCulley, Michael Moats and Scottie Neil.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
