William "Buck" Roy Eckard

William Roy "Buck" Eckard, Jr., 60, of Churchville, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 13, 1988 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Staunton. 

He was born March 31, 1928 at Headwaters, the son of the late Roy and Barbara Smith Eckard. 

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Janet McCray Eckard of Churchville; two daughters, Martha Lee Griffin and Janetta Sue Eckard, both of Churchville; a son, William Roy Eckard of Bridgewater, three sisters, Sarah K. Fitzgerald, Sadie Thorpe and Betty Rexrode, all of Staunton; and three granddaughters.

Funeral services Will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Daniel D. Rhodes. Burial will be in Headwaters Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at he funeral home in MCDowell and at other times at the Eckard home, Churchville or at the Tom Griffin residence in McDowell.
