William Bryan Folks

William Bryan Folks, 92, of Blue Grass died Wednesday evening, Feb. 10,1988 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. 

He was born Nov. 15,1896 at Blue Grass, a son of Reuben Dice and Martha Jack Folks. 

On Sept. 1, 1925 he married Mary Eveline Pratt Folks, now a resident of Pendleton Nursing Home, Franklin, W.V. 

He was a member of Blue Grass United Methodist Church and served on the Highland County School board eight years. He was a member of Blue Grass Ruritan Club, Highland County ASCS for 10 years, and wasa past member of Highland County Sheep Association. He was one of the first directors of the Highland Farm Bureau and was a veteran of the Navy in World War I. 

In addition to his widow, survivors include two sons, William P. and Julian D. Folks, both of Blue Grass; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 

A service was conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Gibson, with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery. 

Pallbearers were Berlie J Swecker, Jr., Austin Shepherd, Harry Puffenbarger, Jack Simmons, Roy Robertson and Lacy Link.

Honorary pallbearers were friends attending the service.
