William Moffett Hull, 78, of Monterey died Friday morning, Dec. 25, 1987 in King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born April 2, 1909 at Mill Gap, Va., a son of the late William Glen and Stella Stover Hull.
On June 2, 1930 he married the former Alma Gutshall, of Monterey, who died Dec. 31, 1987.
He was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church and was the owner and operator of Hull's Service Station for 40 years.
Surviving are a son, his step-mother Hazel Hull of Monterey, four half sisters, Kathleen Summers of Waynesboro, Mary Glen Hiner of Dayton, Va., Dorothy Ford of Emerald Isle, NC., Ferbynell Eddins of Boston, Mass.; one half brother, Carlton Hull of Monterey; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a half sister, Kittie Golod, and a brother, Max Hull.
A graveside service was conducted 3 p.m. Sunday in the Monterey Cemetery by the Rev. Betty Johnson.
Active pallbearers will be Roy Robertson, Grant Woods, Jake Moats, A.P. Gum, Ernest Terry and Dick Eagle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Moats, John Reynolds, Andy and Junitor Gutshall, Jack Herold, Bill Smith, Jon Ginn, Dr. T.E. Billingsley, Ralph Gutshall, Shannon Maloy, Eldon Galford, Clarence Sire, William Huffman and Tom Wilson.
Friends may call at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell and at the Hull residence in Monterey at any time.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Highland County Rescue Squad, Monterey, Va. 24465.
