William Homer Siron

June 25, 1910 — September 2, 1989

William Homer Siron, 79, of McDowell passed away Saturday night, September 2, 1989 in King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born June 25, 1910 at McDowell, a son of William Lyman and Sarah Margaret (McCoy) Siron.

On January 14, 1933, he married Della Mae Simmons, who survives.

He was a farmer and retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation.

In addition to his wife of McDowell, he is survived by four daughters, Charlotte Simmons and Thelma Pultz, both of Staunton, Doris Armstrong of McDowell, and Gail Bowers of Franklin, WV; three sons, Olen Carroll Sr. of Swoope, Eddie A. and James Lee Siron, both of McDowell; a sister, Leda Siron of McDowell; and a brother, Seabrook Siron of McDowell; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by hte Revs. William Strickler and Bernard Skeens. Burial will be in the McKendree Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Carroll Mitchell, Ray Eagle, Toby, Rudolph and Leon Siron, Dick Armstrong, Louie Smith and Clemett Malcolm.

The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in McDowell.
