William Allen Stuart

William Allen Stuart, 88, a retired Head Waters farmer, died Friday morning, March 18, 1988 in Staunton manor Nursing Home.

He was born August 2, 1899 at Head Waters, a son of William Blair, a confederate soldier,  and Margaret E. (Armstrong) Stuart.

On July 20, 1923, he married Josephine Cathering Hook, who died January 7, 1982.

He was a member of Head Waters Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Weldon Allen of Head Waters and William Lenva Stuart of McDowell' five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Obaugh Funeral Home by Rev. Lowell Stoval. Burial will be in Head Waters Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William, James and Phillip Stuart, Dennis Masincup, Gernon Hoover, Ronnie, Elliott, Dewey Spitzer and Don Kauffman.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
