William "Nicho" Beverage, Jr.

August 12, 1958 — September 19, 2016

William Nicholas "Nicho" Beverage, Jr., 58, of Richmond passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, after battling dementia for several years. Born on August 12, 1958, in Staunton, Virginia, he was the son of the late Jayne and Nick Beverage of Monterey.

Mr. Beverage was raised in Newport News and spent the summers of his youth in Monterey. After obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology from East Tennessee State University, he was employed with Stone and Webster Corporation for almost 20 years where he was involved in the construction of nuclear power plants across the United States. During the second half of his career, he worked for Bechtel Corporation in the construction and engineering of telecom facilities.

Mr. Beverage is survived by his three children Beck, Sam, and Hannah Beverage, all of Portland, Oregon; his siblings Barbara Magilley of Charlotte, NC, James Beverage of Charlottesville, and Jerome Beverage of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nicola Beverage O'Connor.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11a.m., October 22, 2016 in Monterey Cemetery with the Rev. Bobbie Jo Gardner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a local charity in Highland County.
