Elsie Varner

Elsie (Corbett) Varner, 94, of Mustoe, died on Wednesday night, November 9, 1994 at Oak Hill Health Care Center, Staunton.

She was born on July 25, 1900 at Mustoe, a daughter of William Bennett and Gertrude (Elliott) Corbett.

On March 21, 1918 she was married to Arthur Clarence Varner who died on November 2, 1975.

She was a member of Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church and the Women's Mission Society. She had been treasurer of Hamilton Chapel Cemetery.

Surviving are three daughters, Judith V. King, Mabel V. Snyder and Velda V. Smith, all of Staunton; a son, James F. Varner of Monterey; a brother, June A. Corbett of Oklahoma City, OK; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-freat-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Donald Rose and Jerry Ginn, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry, James, Dennis and Mack King, Ricky Smith and Gary Manuel.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and friends attending the service.
